We generate values when we are creative.
The creative intervention “Shaping values – valued shapes” was aimed at opening a specific space for human resource managers to make them creators of cultural contents and values. Conference participants had the opportunity to visibly create values with paint and brushes.
The idea for the creative intervention „Shaping values – valued shapes“ was based on the theme of the conference: „Human resource management shaping the future“. “Shape” in the workshop title refers to both the ability to create and the human shape.
The beginning of every meaningful, value oriented and appreciative creative process is the individual. If we want to create values and implement these in a sustainable manner, we have to create an appreciative “shape” for ourselves. The workshop presented an open and creative space where the individual process of „self-shaping“ could take place.
“Valued shapes” were used to “shape values”.
The wooden manikins became vehicles in the creative process as workshop participants were instructed to „charge” them with values and give them an individual appearance. Questions that are relevant in the management of people were used to get the process started: How do I see myself? How do I present myself? How do I think myself?
At the end of the workshop participants had shaped values with valued shapes in two ways: during the creative process itself and in the visible (wooden manikin) result.
